Exposed Coating or Buried Membrane?

The right system depends on what sits on top of the deck. Exposed decks with foot or vehicle traffic usually take a liquid-applied traffic coating. Decks with pavers, pedestals, soil or landscaping usually take a buried membrane in a protected (inverted) assembly with insulation, drainage and protection layers above it. Many podiums combine both, so tie-ins between systems matter.
